phD in marketing

hi
i read through a couple of schools that said their b school programs needed a gmat. so i ve booked that for next month. now i see gre a lot more common. could someone please tell me if a gmat would be a disadvantage for a phD in marketing?
also please share the usual gmat score necessary to get into a good enough school (im looking at Warton and the likes)

Hey,
Wharton and all the Ivy schools seriously consider your GPA and GMAT Scores.

I don't think that GMAT will be a disadvantage, therefore it is a necessity. Sometimes GRE is used as a substitute for GMAT if GMAT is already taken.

These are my own opinions,
Hope that somebody more equipped will help you more better than I do.

Good luck,

It depends on the school, but it doesn't matter as much as your score does. I talked to two directors from top programs and each one preferred a different one. I am retaking the GMAT because I took it 5 years ago and it's easier for me. If you really want to play it safe, you can take both and wait to send your test scores until you know which score was a higher percentile.

desimba is on the way!
Look at the admissions pages closely and they will usually specify fairly clearly which scores they will accept for what programs. Marketing programs usually take the GMAT that is what I have seen but if there are any doubts, don't hesitate to reach out to the schools. I have seen that the admissions offices are pretty good in responding to e-mail queries.
