PLEASE help me out
Okay, so I'm applying for PhD in finance. I need help deciding where I have a chance of getting in. I have 760 GMAT, 3.8 GPA in Grad School (MS Math), but I DON'T have great LORs. What to do? I know I have at least one strong letter, but that's the best I can say.
I have no clue what range I should be looking at given this deficiency. Can anyone out there help me out? |

LORs is what I would call a hygiene factor. Having great LORs is par for the course for any serious applicant to a PhD program unless it is for someone who publishes in AER every month or so. However if you do not have at least good LORs from your recommenders then that becomes a problem. Given that try to get recos from other folks who will be more excited about your candidacy so that your LORs are good if not great. Anything short of an enthusiastic LOR is a killer in my opinion.
