applied and waiting for decisions?
has anyone else applied to a bunch of programs and waiting for replies?
now all i can think about are the possible ways my application could have gone wrong and the likelihood i wont get rejected by all the schools i applied to. if acceptance rates are about 3% and i applied to 5 schools theres just a 15% chance i got into at least one. hmm, assuming my odds are a bit better...say 13% for each school, the chance i get into at least one school is 50%. alright, got a coin. flip! tails. damn. Yes, the waiting is not fun at all. Hang in there.
Anyway, a few offers have been spotted. Hence we should be hearing more in days to come.

Hey!
I heard from Carnegie Mellon's Tepper School that I got admitted to the PhD program on Organizational Behavior and Theory ![]() No news from others yet though and honestly, I am not waiting to hear any for another month or so. Good luck to us all in this period ![]() |

Welcome to CMU
![]() edit: oh, but you haven't accept it yet, right? Anyway, if you need some info on CMU/Pittsburgh, let me know.

Thanks so much guys. I was really surprised since I did not expect even an interview this fast but it is such a relief. I don't think I have a stellar profile btw, ok, good scores and grades, good amount of ongoing research but no publications. As I said, I was surprised because two days before I got the email, I was pretty convinced I would not be getting in anywhere.
So the worrying is okay I think ![]() I have not accepted the offer yet, there are still some places I might choose over Carnegie but not many. It is a very good and happy choice for me actually. And thanks so much for the offer Tkkoh, I may probably need your feedback about the school and the town. Good luck to everyone waiting to hear. I wish the best for all. |

I really think it differs from program to program. Don't stress yourself out for nothing for now because all we can do is speculate on information we do not have. We are all good candidates and will find our place.
I know the worst is this waiting period and you probably think it is easy for me to speak with an acceptance but I was convincing myself the same way before I heard from CMU. I do wish the best for all ![]() |
