I have always been frank with you. I think you are extraordinary... but I told you since the beginning that landing on an American BS could take some time... you are still young.. and at the interviews I have been, I can tell you that 95% of the people interviewing with me, have or are getting a Master Degree of any sort from an American institution.

Good luck Ancalagon! And as I did before, I second Doubtful's advice. I don't think it is unethical to grab your MS from UCSC...you even might like it there regardless of what the rest says, and maybe you'll stay for the PhD. Who knows.
Besides, your MS can be a super-launching pad for a PhD in Econ or Business later on. Keeping hope in high! AT

But she came and knelt before him, saying, "Lord, help me." And he answered, "It is not fair to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs." She said, "Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table." Then Jesus answered her, "O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire." --Mt 15, 25-28a

McCombs might not have such a high reputation as UPenn or Harvard, but it still is a top-rate Finance program. Congrats!

in his case I would consider the master from TAMU.. it's a very good school.. tuitions should be low.. and maybe he can get a TA... when he gets a TA the tuitions are even lower.. then in 2 years applying to a Business School with some TAMU degree... |
