Here's the update!

I ended up hearing that I was shortlisted at CU and UBC maybe might have made an offer (I interviewed but didn't wait for their decision before I conferred mine to give them enough time to interview other candidates). I was given a verbal offer from UIUC and a written offer from Minnesota 2 days ago. I just informed the faculty at Minnesota that I was accepting their offer.

Thanks everybody for the awesome comments. I hope you are all doing well on the PhD market...as I'm sure you are.

How did you find out you were shortlisted at Colorado?

I ended up hearing from a prof at another school as well as them implicitly telling me when I withdrew my application.

I asked Sharon, they're (UIUC) are only inviting us for INTERVIEWS (phone interviews). They want "to see where our decision-making is." That is not an offer of acceptance, but an offer of invitation. They were not verbal offers. Don't get too excited, gimpy.

CU is colorado??? Shouldn't it be UC(-Boulder), no?

Re: CU - yeah honestly...I never understood it either. I remember when I first started emailing with them last year, I called it UC and they called it CU in their reply. I think it's because the California system is UC and they didn't want to get it confused. Weird though...I agree.
