My Two Cents Question about WSU - Finance department

I was wondering if anyone could offer any insight into Washington State University's Finance Ph.D. program... By almost all rankings, it's a top 100 b-school. Any thoughts?

I can't seem to find any information about whether or not they have access to WRDS databases, or very much other specific information about the finance department.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and good luck with your applications!

Most departments have some access to WRDS if they have an active research staff. Can't you just ask the department?

I would say this program is top 30. Living out here in the west I can say that it is beautiful. I will never leave.

I'd say it is closer to a top 70-80.

Good research track record, good PhD placements....but not in the same tier as Berkeley, UF, UGA, Yale, Rochester, Notre Dame, Cornell, OSU, Texas, Maryland, Emory, Columbia, UNC, etc, etc, etc.

Any Finance program in the top-100 or so is solid, solid school (due to the small size of the community).

I think it is a top50 by judging on the names of the people in the faculty. It is indeed a beautiful area and I would have applied there.

The Arizona State rankings use research output in A journals.

Those rankings + recent placements are a good qualitative measure for a program.
