Any offers gone out yet from UWM? With business schools in particular, do all interviewees get admitted? And are all un-interviewed people rejected by default?

Any thoughts?

i can say for sure that all interviewees do not automatically get accepted (i was interviewed by OU and got rejected). i can also say for sure that you don't have to get interviewed to be accepted into a program, because i was accepted into a program that didn't feel the need to interview me.

it's impossible to predict what's going to happen. i wouldn't be too discouraged at this point, because if you are a very strong candidate who is next in line at a lot of schools, i think the chances are good that you could still be offered a position.

i don't see how it could hurt at this point to start emailing the PhD coordinators more samples of your writing, or other examples of work you've done that is finance-related (or related to whatever field in which you are applying). my thinking is that the more you can convince that person that you should be there, the better your chances are of getting in. i think the worst that could happen is they fail to respond (also happened to me). anyone else have any thoughts on this?

They interviewed 8 people in late Feb./early Mar. and sent out 4 offers.

UW Madison finance has a policy of only admitting students they interview. Not all people who are interviewed get admitted though.

It is a fact that they do not offer admissions to all those who are interviewed. What would be the point of interview if that were indeed the practice? UWM, in particular, has a "rigorous" admissions process, meaning, they take the procedure very seriously, so don't expect them to go through a process without the intention to reduce the size of the applicant pool, or gain an offer from them without being scrutinized closely.
