Impressions of my profile

After reading some of the things on this site, I think I have a pretty weak profile.

I am incredibly interested in a Ph.D. in International Business. It's very difficult to find information on programs like that. It's difficult to even determine which B-Schools offer Ph.D. programs in this field.

BBA Accounting - Texas A&M - 3.1 GPA
MS Info - Texas A&M - 3.5 GPA
CPA License
2 years public accounting experience
680 GMAT

There are a couple problems I have.

1) My undergrad GPA is really low. I realize this and frankly it's just from not taking undergrad as seriously as I should have. It was 4 years ago when I took that GMAT, and I think that if I studied more, I could snag a better score.

2) I'm not sure if I need a different Master's degree. I'm not interested in a Ph.D. in Info. I'm willing to go get a Master's degree first if that helps me achieve my goals. I really just don't know what is necessary.

3) I don't have many academic references. A&M is a huge school, and while I know of a couple professors who liked me, I don't have any research experience that they could attest to.

I appreciate any honest feedback that you have for me. I'm just trying to research and determine what I should do over the next couple years to prepare myself for this career.

Your GMAT score is a bit low. Are you planning on taking the GRE ? Which math courses have you taken ?

University of Michigan has a program in International Business and Business Economics. Ohio State University has a program in International Business, that is offered every other year. Wharton @ U Penn has a program in Management with a concentration in International Business. Finally Anderson @UCLA also has a program in International Business & Comparative Management.

Thanks for the help. I also read that Univ. of South Carolina has a program in this.

With my lack of an international background, would I need to go get a Master's in international business first? What would be in my best interest as far as pursuing this?

I would probably study harder and retake the GMAT. I wasn't planning to take the GRE as well, but I would if you told me it would give me an advantage.

I haven't taken any math courses in excess of the basic required undergrad courses for an accounting degree. Are there some specific courses that you would recommend I take?
