QEM Erasmus Mundus, theoretical domination?

As a masters applicant and TM zombie, I've spent quite some time looking up European Master's programmes and to trim the verbiage a bit:

Pros:

1.Best Structure by far. V theoretical, v flexible, v mathematical (esp at bielefeld)

erasmus mundus

erasmus mundus

2.Good funding
3.Europe

Cons( or rather unknowns):

1.Faculty, not quality, but fame. The only names I know are the ones from Barcelona GSE and thats if the Barcelona GSE takes over the QEM's Barcelona wing, otherwise UAB is a blank (to me ie... though it is top in social choice, which is interesting)
2.Murmurs on TM regarding a lot of hiccups in the management

Queries(there seems to be v little info on this programme on TM):

1.Could anyone enlighten us on the faculty at the QEM? What research groups they belong to, indigenous placement records for local students from these univs, famous profs etc.

2.Imo only LSE EME dominates QEM in course content (not variety but quality), Oxford Mphil matches QEM in core courses and Cambridge, Tilburg etc are dominated. LSE, Oxford, Toulouse dominate via faculty. Any thoughts?

Just a few notes.

1) If you spend the first semester at UAB (which you can) you will take the first-year first-semester courses of the IDEA programme (Master), whatever the web page says. At least this is how it works right now.

2) scholarship: I just skimmed through the web, but it seems to me that if you come from the US (which I guess you do, I dunno) you get no funding whatsoever; you only can apply for a loan (erasmus mundus). If I am right, scholarship is generous for people from poorer countries (~Erasmus Mundus), but Europeans from EU/EFTA countries can get just regular Erasmus scholarship, which is about 300-400 euros/month.

3) from what I heard, management is quite awful. They fail to respond to emails, secretary on the phone just tells you (in French) that she can´t speak English (which is absurd) and so on. But in the end it works somehow.

Check their websites. At least UAB publishes all of these info there.

Hey that's definitely not true that Americans don't get funding for the QEM. I'm American and I'm getting 21,000 euros a year via the Erasmus Mundus scholarships. I know two other Americans who have the same scholarship, and another American with a different scholarship.

Is the QEM Masters, the only Economics program that comes under the Erasmus Mundus umbrella of scholarships?

There's another one in Law and Economics I believe, but that one has no math so its a very different program.

Feel free to PM me.
