Caltech/Princeton application
Hey there.
I got a couple of questions about applying to Caltech and Princeton. First, I've tried to access the online application at Caltech, and I still cannot get the 2009 application, which is weird, since the deadline is almost 2 months away. Second, I'm thinking of applying to the Princeton Political Economy program (Economics stream), and wanted to ask whether it's possible to apply to both (Political Econ and Econ), to increase admission chances. Thanks.

I'm not 100% sure, but here's what I remember from Princeton's website. You have to apply through either the economics or politics program, and mention that you intend to do the political economy program. So it sounds like it would be part of your econ department application, and I don't think you can send 2 applications to the same department in a given year. If you can do it at all, I think you would have to apply through the political department for the political economy program, and then apply for the regular economics PhD through that department. Even then, I'm not sure you can do that.
