European Masters in Econ - Scholarships

I am planning to apply to a bunch of Econ masters programs nexts year in europe (not the UK) and am trying to figure out how competitive the scholarships are. Is there anyone out there who has received (or knows someone who has received) a scholarship for any of the following programs and is willing to give a brief description of the sort of profile needed?

    - MEMS at Humboldt U
    - Ecole Polytechnique
    - QEM through Erasmus Mundus
    - U of Amsterdam
    - Toulouse

I am talking about the various scholarships offered by the schools as well as the DAAD in Germany, Eiffel in France, Huyens in the Netherlands, Erasmus Mundus, etc, etc, etc.

Also, what does everyone have against the MEMS at Humboldt U Berlin? It sounded pretty good to me.

    Thanks for your help.

May I ask why this particular masters? Also, are you aiming just at Msc or Mphil/Phd, what do you want after masters? If you aim at phd, you should also consider some other master programmes, like Tinbergen (U of Amsterdam, VU, Erasmus U Rotterdam) Mphil programme, Tilburg, UPF, Carlos III....

My rationale is a little different to most people here. I am focussing onFrance and Germany as I am keen on the country/language. As for the other Dutch programmes I must admit I havent really looked into them as I am not too keen on learning that language.

I am looking to go on to a phd but not in the US like most people here. While i will definately look at getting into one of the top 3 programmes in the UK if it is possible, I will probably come back to Australia for the Phd and shouldnt have any problems getting into any of the programmes here.
