$2,000 sounds like a good guess to me if you apply to roughly 10 - 12 schools. That's what I spent and the only offer I got was from a uni where there was no application fee... However I was working in the private sector at the time I applied.
I've already spent $120 on transcript requests and $300 on GRE score reports without submitting a single application... I think I'm gonna end up spending over $2,000 on applications... More than 6 months of rent on my townhouse!
I realize it is my future, and I'm willing to spend it, but it hurts seeing my bank account shrink so quickly...
How much is this process setting you back?

2000 seems a bit much. For a Canadian Applicant, even with Toronto costing as much as it does, I'll likely be spending 1200-1400CAD on 11 applications. $200 on transcripts, $200 on GREs, about $800-900 on applications, and $100-$150 for courier.
It's still plenty of money, though.

For about 17 applications plus ETS services I presume to spend around 2000$.
Given I am an European and I am paying in Euro I hope to save some money (at least the mail expenditures)

Wow your rent is really cheap!
The whole process cost me somewhere in between 1500 and 2000 in the end, depending on what you include and what your don't. That was for 15 apps. You only need 1 app but ex-ante it's pretty hard to know which one
It's worth it in the end. Don't let the short term costs mess up your chances at long term success. Unless you're beta is REALLY high![]()
