    Wharton: Applied Econ

Has anyone heard from Wharton's applied econ program? In specific, did they have interviews?

My girlfriend applied to the Health Policy track of Wharton's applied economics program. She has an interview with them next Wednesday.

Ah, but I think that is actually a separate program. There's another program called "Health Care Management and Economics". The applied economics department focuses on: behavioral, economics on risk management, industrial economics and business regulation, public economics and political economy, and urban economics and real estate. Hmm, but most of the other departments of the Wharton program seem to have interviews.

I applied to Wharton economics program too. I haven't heard anything about them, and I couldn't find any relevant interview posts on gradcafe from the last years. I assume that they don't really have interviews

That's reassuring news! Perhaps there is a glimmer of hope yet... (a very, very, very small glimmer).

I also applied - no news yet, but I was guessing that they would have interviews at some point. I suppose we'll find out.

Same here, though I am not sure Applied Econ at Wharton does interviews. I think their Finance program (which I also applied to and heard nothing from) does do interviews.

I also applied to the Applied Economics program through Wharton. I haven't heard anything regarding an interview either. I went to thegradcafe.com and typed "Pennsylvania Applied Economics" in the search, and it looks like someone was contacted regarding an interview on February 18th, 2008.

I hope they don't do interviews since none of us have been contacted

Good point, I missed that post when I did the search. It sounds like it was an interview via e-mail... maybe they just sent him an e-mail to ask a few questions? I don't think we should worry (yet)

Yea, I'd also question whether or not that person had an application for "applied economics". Again, many people just put economics but are actually talking about other PhD programs under the Wharton subheading.
