    Mr Paul Krugman...Please sh**t up!

    Ok,

This is not a rant, but rather an observation! What is up with Mr Paul Krugman? This guy always see things in a negative way. Has he always been this way, or is winning the Nobel prize got anything to do with it? Maybe Mr Krugman ought to relax a bit, and it is not like he is being listened to, maybe once Professor Larry Summers leave then Mr Krugman can have his show.

I assume the title is Paul Krugman....Please shoot up! But I really don't think that steroids would be the answer??

Anyhoo, he's an economist with a policy-oriented blog. He has opinions and chooses to share them. He is one of many voices in the econ community. If people have problems with his posts they should argue against them with facts.

And no Im not really aligned with his political outlook.

If your question was a serious one, no, he did not just get like this after winning the Nobel. I think it was around when Bush came into office that he started getting very hardcore into the punditry ring. It's a shame, really, that such a brilliant scholar chooses to waste his time arguing with the likes of Bill O'Reilly.

I actually quite like Paul Krugman for two reasons, one, he hates the finance community as much as I do and two, he is incredibly snarky in debates, which I find hilarious.

If Krugman is the Ghostface Killah of the Keynesian Wu-Tang Clan, what does that make Mankiw? The Rza?

Nope. Here he is, in Slate, 1996:

I'm not a huge fan of Krugman's statist slant, but I value reading what he has to say. Every now and then I... wait for it... learn something by reading a column that doesn't fit my current worldview.

As for arguing on talk shows, I think that's a very valuable service that more economists should get into; it helps spread an interest in economics beyond just the journal/university circuit, and shows that economists don't have to be emotionless robots as is (incorrectly) the popular opinion among many laymen.

If he still has enough time to teach, I'd be stoked to have a chance to study under him at Princeton. I might feel like going mad sometimes, but it would probably be a great growth experience.

I stand corrected. However, it was still under Bush's Administration (I think) that he became so shrill. But with Clinton there was some speculation that he felt he was snubbed for a job.
