    Need suggestions on J-Pal interview

Hi all, interestingly enough I haven't heard from any of the programs I applied to. However, I do have an interview with J-Pal next week ~ an RA position abroad. So, I was wondering if anyone here could give me suggestions on what kind of questions will be asked, what to say and most important what not to say. Thanks.

At least for my interview, it was strictly about my qualifications for the job (no questions like "what is your greatest weakness?" or anything like that): they asked me about my past experience, ability in Stata, and a little about how I would react to situations or what experience would help me with them. So I'd focus on being able to talk about what's on your resume and recs. However, this could have been specific to the team I was interviewing with, so you can take it with a grain of salt...

I'm interested in J-PAL...would you mind sharing your profile so I have some idea of what their qualification standards are? I would be interested in a "type 1" position...

SubEffect: Thanks for the comments ... it looks like you were interviewing for the type 2 ... though and I am interviewing for the type 1 ... so ... have u heard back from them? how many interviews did you have to give?

I was interviewing for a Type 1 position too, so I think they care about Stata and some of the more Type 2 skills for it as well. The main field relevant questions were about how I would react to situations of conflict and handle organizational matters, so you might want to think of specific examples in which you've done that, especially if you were in a position of leadership in an organization.

And I was offered the job the day after the interview (sent an email, then talked to them over the phone about it a little later), so didn't do any others (though I had one other interview offer). Hope that helps, and good luck on your interview(s)!
