Economics discussion forums?

Does anyone here know where I can go just to discuss economics questions and issues with educated people? I've been looking everywhere but have not been able to find a good forum where there is *active* discussion.

Obviously I see this forum is all about admission and education issues. I'm just a regular person trying to understand econ and it would be great if there were a place I could talk things over!

Any suggestions?

KGkhan23 's dreams are becoming reality.
I don't know of such a forum, though I'm sure there is something like that out there. But when this forum is busier, the discussion topics are not at all limited to admission. There is plenty of discussion about economic issues from pretty much every subfield, as well as the stuff you read in the news. It's a pretty dead time of year right now, but if you've got something you want to discuss, you might as well try starting a thread on it here. Worst case scenario is that nobody responds. Hope that helps!

i'd suggest subscribing to a few econ blogs and discuss away in their comment sections.

Makes sense, I considered that. The only issue is that often the posts don't discuss what I'm immediately wondering about...

A TMer started this place: The economists' forum at EconPoint.com

The study of economic theory is not defensible on aesthetic grounds. It hardly rivals in elegance the mathematics or physics our sophomores learn. The theory is studied only as an aid in solving real problems, and it is good only in the measure that it performs this function. - George Stigler
