    U of Washington--Seattle

I saw some guys on TM have received the admission with funding.

I have not heard anything from UW yet, does that mean I have no chance of getting the fund (if I am lucky to get in)?

There's like 10 funded position for first years our of a class of about 25-30, last I heard. Getting funded at UW is going to be tough.

Guessing the first year is totally unfunded? Which is to say, no tuition waiver?

I've seen the rankings, but when talking to my professors most rank Georgetown over UW-Seattle. As an international student I feel i'm lacking the feeling from the street. What would be the consensus? I know this is fairly general, not even referring to a specialism (mine is probably IO, but as yet TBC), but any advice would be appreciated (assume funding offers are fairly similar).

I have not heard anyone got an offer from UW-seattle. But I know some students received personal emails from their professors.

UW does their acceptances in waves... after the first wave they wait a bit and then send out a 2nd, 3rd, etc that goes well till the end of March.

For IO, browse this versus this, I guess; it may not be clear that one is tons better than the other. For placements, Washington versus Georgetown conforms quite closely to what one would expect. UW has better academic placements; although Georgetown placed at Stanford GSB recently. Georgetown has better non-academic placements, although Washington has recently placed students at the IMF and WB. Your concern relates to international recognizably of schools. Even though Washington is ranked higher, private schools on the east coast such as Georgetown are generally better recognized abroad, and that can be a big deal in helping get a job. But every school is different. UW-Seattle has, for instance, had a pipeline of sorts of strong Turkish students, but does not this year, oddly enough, have very any Japanese students (in spite of all the cherry blossoms).
You might be interested in this analysis of past TM applicants results, which sorts acceptance and rejection results by school based on postings on TM. Also, I have made a ranking of programs by number of flyouts of schools' job market candidates, which is still in development.

So they might have done with all funded offers?
I wonder how many unfunded acceptance they will send...
