The Lighter Side: Has Anyone Seen a Yoram Bauman Show? (Stand-up Economist)

    Hey all:

The Standup Economist (AKA Yoram Bauman, UWash Prof) is coming to the bay area over my spring break. I was wondering if anyone here has seen his show and thought it would be worth a 1.5hr trip to Santa Rosa. I enjoyed his "Principles, Translated" bit a lot. Thanks!

Apparently he's coming to my school in May, which I am quite excited about.

EDIT: It's May 6th at 3pm. If you can make it, it might save you a trip to Santa Rosa.

Depends on how my final schedule shakes out, but I may have class at that time. Super excited to see him either way! All you lucky Seattle-bounders get a part time comedian on faculty. Now THAT is an intangible.

I saw him earlier this month when he did a show at my school. I got a chance to talk with him for a while after the show -- very nice guy. Even after having seen his youtube videos, the jokes he used again were still funny and his new stuff was even funnier. If you get a chance to see him perform I'd highly recommend it.

I saw one of his shows. He did the youtube routine, which I enjoyed but I had already seen, but the rest of his material was not particularly economics related. It wasn't bad, but I guess going in I was hoping for an hour of material as good but different from the video I had seen, and that wasn't the case. But if there is a free or reasonably priced show on your campus, and you are not too busy, it is worth checking out.
His stuff is pretty accessible to non-economists.

I really liked his bit when he talked about his favorite comments on his YouTube video. In general, if you are a nerdy economist (this may or may not be an oxymoron), then the probability of leaving his show after having >=1 good gut laugh is probably equal to 0.9327.
