Undergraduate Institution: Small LAC, ranks pretty well in Midwest
Undergraduate GPA: 4.0/4.0 GRE: 780Q/540V Econ Courses: Int Micro & Macro, International, Public, Labor, Developing, Econometrics Math Courses (complete by December): Calc I-III, Linear Algebra, Diff Eq, Intro to Probability, Stats I & II....Spring semester 2010: Mathematical Reasoning, Numerical Analysis, and Diff Eq2. letter of reference: 1 Stanford, 2 University of Illinois (I think they will be solid) Research Experience: None Other: TA to a Professor of Macro for a semester (graded, made answer keys, etc...), now I work in my university's "economics lab" where I tutor students struggling with principle courses. Applying to WUSTL for fall 2010 admission (I am applying to many lower ranked institutions as well). Anyone think I have a shot? ![]() |

Definitely have a shot, depending on well-regarded your LAC is by the people who actually review your transcript. Lack of Real Analysis is the biggest hole in your undergrad record.
As I've said in other threads, I'd take the Mathematical Reasoning in the Fall (bump DE to the spring). A grade in a proof-intensive math course is very important. And without seeing the course description, I'm skeptical that two semesters of DE's will really be all that helpful. |
