UCLA apps

Er is it just me or is the application system down!? Kinda panicking since the deadline's pretty close.

Also, how strict are schools about recommendation letter deadlines? My recommenders are dragging their feet a little it seems.

Hi have you sent a tentative email asking if they have time to submit your recs? They may just forgot it.

i was told by one of my professor's that rec letters can arrive past the due date for the app.

that being said, i think it is a better idea to remind your professors to submit the letters on time.

I have heard that as well, but I know of several schools that explicitly state on their websites that all supplementary material including recommendations must be in by the deadline. So I think it varies by school.

yeah, i've seen that on websites as well. my guess is that even for those schools that state rec letters must be there by the due date they can probably still arrive late with little to no penalty, but i'm not willing to risk it.

I do not think you will encounter problems if your supporting materials lors included arrive after the due.Most school send notification emails if something is missing so just relax!

Yea, I actually just now received an e-mail from Stanford GSB that states "We understand that some recommenders may not submit by the deadline. Please remind your recommenders to do so as soon as possible."
So that hardly sounds like a firm deadline to me.

yes. i submitted mine yesterday and it took a very, very long time to upload all my docs and such. you just need to be patient and liberal with the refresh button.
