Team3
Here is a thread for discussion on the "Admissions and Rejections for Fall 2011" thread. Having a separate venue for discussion tends to make the admissions/rejections thread more searchable/useable. Best of luck to all... Canuckonomist
Indeed best of luck to everyone. The big question is who is going to be the first to post a comment to the Admit/Reject thread? Because you know someone is going to do it.
petecheese
What? wasn't their deadline Dec 1. How can they start rejecting on Dec 14? I would think they would still be with the graduate admissions and not forwarded to the econ department. Are you for real?

rthunder27
What is GF? Gradcafe? Yea, I always wondered that too. And is it asking if you yourself posted it on gradcafe, or if others have posted similar news? Also, I assume I'm not the only one that's clicking through the 2010 rejections/admittance thread when bored, which is probably not healthy, since we're still two months away from the bulk of decisions. Team3
What is GF? Gradcafe? Last year someone, probably me, mistyped GC about halfway through the thread...and it stuck!

Yeah, I've spent way too much time in there. I concluded that some schools give out admissions way earlier than others (e.g. Yale). And that I shouldn't expect an answer from all of them. Seriously, with the money you spend on application fees they could at least answer, so you won't have to guess an "implicit rejection". baffourakoto
decisions are starting to come in awfully quickly this year...should we be worrid?
Team3
decisions are starting to come in awfully quickly this year...should we be worrid? No need to worry! There are always a few outlier responses, expect the bulk in Mar-Apr...
kipfilet
Wow, never thought some Unis started announcing results at such an early stage.
noa
Wow, never thought some Unis started announcing results at such an early stage. But are the results for real? I thought they were jokes... now I'm starting to get a bit worried..
kipfilet
I have no idea as I did not apply for any of those...
petecheese
Could the USC one be for real? Isn't it extremely early for USC to be sending out rejections on dec.
The MAN
I keep checking GC and seeing that U of KY admit with funding and freaking out that they haven't replied to me yet. But then I notice it is the ARE and no longer worry. I can't wait to hear back from my schools. Not just because I'm interested in where I'll get to go, but also because friends and family are constantly asking me for updates on what I've heard from schools. I'm getting tired of telling people that I'll find out some time around March or April.

I'm getting tired of telling people that I'll find out some time around March or April. Yeah, me too. Also, moving from Europe with my partner is gonna be hard, we have so many documents to prepare that I just want to know where I'm going so we can start with the paperwork already! Also, does anyone know if everyone who gets admitted is invited to the flyouts? Or does it depend on the school? I'd like to know if I'll be missing a week of lectures or not... kipfilet
I think I read somewhere that only people admitted with funding were actually reimbursed for the flyouts. I guess everyone who is either admitted or waitlisted is invited.
