jcusack1
What US Econ PhD programs require a MA in Econ? I am specifically interested in the top schools as well as Claremont Graduate School.

Food4Thought
I am not aware of any PhD program that requires the completion of a masters before entering the program. That's like an undergraduate college insisting on students who what to seek a four year degree get an associates degree first. It would be a redundant policy. Insti
In fact none. However some schools require MA for international students to be eligible for certain types of funding. For example they might not be able to offer you a TAship in the first year if you do not have an MA.

Insti
And Yet it's Canada's Policy. We were talking about the US. Canada and most of Europe have very different systems.
fakeo
We were talking about the US. Canada and most of Europe have very different systems. Indeed they do. In terms of length and content, a US PhD program is the equivalent of an MA+PhD combo in Europe or Canada.
