youngspartan
Hello All, Sorry to bother the community here again, but I have another question with regards to Economics PhD applications. I am an NCAA Division III football player and I am wondering if that has any influence on a potential Economics PhD application. I know they won't care about any of my all-conference selections, but do things like academic all-conference teams or just the fact that I would be a 4 year student-athlete help me at all when someone looks at my application. Thank You!
pch
I don't see why would it. How's football supposed to help you in doing econ?
Team3
It shouldn't influence the decision, but I'd list it in the awards section of your CV. We had 3 NCAA athletes in our cohort.
Blanket
...weren't you planning on schooling in Europe anyways?
chrishacker
My guess is that it wouldn't help in most circumstances. But since it wouldn't hurt you at all, my advice is to put it in your CV/Resume using a single sentence. Don't spend time explaining how fit you are in your PS, though. Food4Thought
Most likely it would help as much as putting on your CV your high school superlative of "Best Eyes".

behavingmyself
Conditional on your intelligence, it is usually somewhat harder to get good grades if you're doing college athletics. You might as well list it, but don't anticipate that it will make a large difference.
