hoodaway
Hi all, I wanted to know how important it is to visit schools/econ department if you are applying to that school. Do you set up appointment with professors/ admissions personnel to talk about your research interests etc? Thanks for your suggestions! Food4Thought
Are you saying before or after you are admitted? Before you apply, it is not important at all to visit the school and meet with professors.

Zubrus
No. Thats not true at all. Formal visiting is done after you get in. Don't bother, you're just wasting your time and money.
GnabGib
I meant before you apply. A lot of people are telling me its important to get to know the dept etc. I suppose they mean to browse the department's webpage and take a look at the faculty, their interests and their research.
