"Permanent address" in application forms - need help!!

I am an international student at a Canadian university.

When I applied for PhD(Fall 2017 admission) almost every school asks for my permanent address. I just put my Canadian student residence address there since I was going to live here until leaving for PhD study. I recently learned that what they really wanted was my home country address. Is this going to adversely affect my application? At this point, does it make sense to send them emails to correct for that? Or its only going annoy people?

Thanks in advance for advices.

Thanks for the advices.

I think schools need home-country permanent address for issuing the form students need for applying student visa. In usual years you can correct for this after admission. But this year may be different.

I did state my country of citizenship in every application. It's an East Asian country (few Muslims). Perhaps won't be the primary target of further restriction. But with this administration you never know.
