kcirtap35
Hey y'all, After doing some research with a professor this summer, we decided we wanted to continue researching into the fall. He found out that I could get course credit by enrolling in an independent study and doing research instead of studying. Another professor in the department says this is not uncommon. I was thinking that instead of taking History of Economic Thought, I could do this independent study/research course. Would this be worth doing or would it look weird from the standpoint of admissions? Thanks!
startz
From the point of view of admissions, no one will care whether you do an independent study or study history of thought. They will care a lot about your having done research and what a letter of recommendation says about your ability to do research. Do the research.
