AJL
Hi, Seeking your kind advice on which all universities to apply for PHD in Economics. My profile in brief: GRE score 318, Quant 161 & Verbal 157 BE and MBA from most premier institutes of India (NIT & IIM) - 70% marks (do not know in GPA terms) 10 years of work experience, working with top Indian conglomerates in Corporate Strategy & Business Analysis Any help is deeply appreciated. ksuga
You have no shot in T50, or most likely T60. Very low GRE score, MBA will not help (might even hurt since it shows no consistent career flow towards phd econ), but most of all 10 years of private sector experience will hurt the most given your age. Your engineering undergrad might help you hit somewhere between T60-T100.
YaSvoboden
Depending on your research interests and goals coming out of a phd program your should consider b-school phds. Strategy and logistics PhDs do well. They are usually called a phd in management.
