A Little Evaluative Help, Guys??
What do you guys think my chances are:
I did my undergrad in econ at a very top US uni, and had an econ gpa above 4.0 (got As and A+). But I only minored in econ, discovering it late, so I took additional math and econ courses at another university, so far also As there. Since undergrad, I've had 2 years as research assistant for economists: one doing econometrics with a pretty famous law and economics person, another doing more tax policy stuff with another well respected economist. I guess my recs would come from them. My GRE is: Math 800, Verbal 590 I'd say my concerns about myself are: not having majored in economics, and not having met my undergrad econ profs...I probably can't get glowing recs from them since I never got to know them. How big a factor is that? Ideally, I'd like to get into a program like MIT or Harvard or Princeton, but I just don't feel great about my odds. Thoughts? Stay cool, Baruch |

Hey Baruch,
I actually know someone from a very similar situation, who I talked about earlier. Only difference is he/she got an 800 on verbal as well. People on this forum seem to think someone in your situation has a decent shot at the top 15. |
