Low Rank, Impressive Placement record.

Hi folks,

I was wondering which low-ranked universities have a relatively impressive placement in academia? Of course, the top-50 (or even the top-100) schools have all pretty much very impressive placements, in my opinoin. Here, I am talking about schools ranked lowe than that, but have good placements in academia. Feel free to share your knowledge.

The premise is that location matters. But then I'm referring to the private sector jobs.

That's what I thought; speaking of ranks though, if you graduate from a university ranked outside of top-50, it really makes little difference where you graduate from (eg. little difference between 100th and 200th). Of course, we're Keeping in mind that some low-ranked universities might hit top-50 when ranked by sub-field.

That's already a "top 50" school, at least accordingly to US News. No disrespect to NC State, but I'm just making a point. The career prospects of the graduates of the low-ranking programs are likely to be even bleaker.
