correct me if i'm wrong, but yale wants 3 LORs for econ.
Hi guys, I have two specific questions about applications:
(1) do you have to send 3 or 4 letter of recommendation's? I know that in Yale its 4 letters.
What about the rest? What happens if they ask for 3 and you send 4?
(2) should you send a research paper with your application? I know Chicago requires a writing sample, but what about the other universities? I have two good research papers (one is published in an ISI journal, and the other one is a working paper) that I would like the admission committee to read. Should I enclose them anyway? Or just send one? Or none....
Thx,
ELM

Sorry man, I did not make myself clear.
In yale 3 LORs are required, but you have the option to submit more.
See the following link:

Letters of Recommendation
Three letters of recommendation are required from individuals who can evaluate your academic work, intellectual ability, and/or academic potential for graduate work. At least one recommendation should originate from a faculty member of the last institution you attended as a full-time student. You may submit more than three letters of recommendation.
