Desperately need some advice on GRE

Hi all

Sorry that this thread is so long.
I desperately need some advice.
My first GRE math scores were 790 and 780 analytical, but they have expired. I took the GRE last yeat and got 770. I had been out of school for 4 years then and hadnt practiced a whole lot. So hoping to improve on that this year before applying to econ phd programs I practised and consistently got 800s and then on the day of the test bombed the test and got 730.
Now I am really in a soup.
Can any of you please tell me how to identify how I am doing during the test? The questions are supposed to get harder and harder? or what? how can I be sure?
I just cant afford to repeat last time's experience!
Any sort of advice would be greatly appreciated. I am really nervous and depressed about all of this. Please give me any advice you can.
Thanks so much.

Skipper 's dreams are becoming reality.
I'm not sure it's a good idea to try to identify how well you're doing during the test.

When I took the GRE, I was convinced I was bombing the math section. I almost cancelled my scores, but turns out I got an 800.

If you're scoring 800 on the practice tests, you should be in good shape. The 730 was probably an aberration. Just try to relax!
