Is it just me or does it feel like there are a lot less applicants this year than last year? I am currently in a phd program, but am trying to transfer this year and noticed that relative to last year there is a lot less forum activity regarding admissions. Is it just not "crunch time" yet?

I haven't counted the number of posts in each thread, but the second thread has 3 more pages than the first one. So I wouldn't expect less competition this year.
