Richard Rogerson and Ed Prescott at ASU are really good macro guys. (not rising stars)

Ed Prescott might have done some excellent research but I was in his lecture that he gave at the central bank in the country where I lived previously and I was far less impressed. He was talking about the pension systems and not only was it incredibly boring, but what was really astonishing, he was not able to answer a single question he was asked later in the discussion. The governor always had to help him out of the silence by asking for another question. Quite embarassing for a Nobel Prize winner. I do not know, maybe just a bad day, but for me, as well as for the others, that were sitting there, this was a really strange experience.

ive heard about prescott from his old students that he is really bad at presenting.
rising macro guys that i know of are all in top schools. jesus velaverde at duke is pretty good too. others at top 10 are:
ivan werning (someone described him to be as a super super star)
george mario angelatos
mikhail golosov
Emmanuel Farhi
aleh tsyvinski ( i saw him present, hes really good)
good macro guys almost always end up in good schools because they are rare...
