please evaluate my chances

international undergraduate in best domestic university

gre: v 580 q 800 aw 4.5
toefl: 643 5 paper based

BA in econ, overall gpa: about 3.75; intermediate micro, macro, metrics gpa 4, math econ, audit graduate micro theory

double major in math, gpa: 4; calculus, linear algebra, prob, math. stat, mathematical analysis, advanced algebra, prob. theory, stochastic process, real analysis, functional analysis, D.E., abstract algebra, differential geometry, concrete math, audit measuring, stochastic calculus

tex/metapost, matlab, maxima, c, c++, shell, ruby, useless?

0.5 year ta

lor from professors unknown outside home country

no publication, no exchange experiences, no ra

please evaluate my chances to

texas
cmu
umn
usc
wustl
purdue
psu

btw, any program care about strong comp. skills?

if texas -austin then it is difficult. cmu is tough.
psu possible. cant say about others.

I wouldn't be so pessimistic. Your maths background is very strong. Econ GPA and GRE are acceptable also. I'd add one or two reaches if I were you, especially if ppl from your school have gone there in the past. Good luck!

yes, i also applied to osu and thinking about tamu. osu has a good ranking (econphd), but what about its reputation in us? and what about tamu? i know nothing about it except the new defence secretary.

im an undergrad at texas, and pretty much know the whole committee and and have talked about the stats of incoming grad students.

ur profile looks solid and decent. if u happen to be from china, i think u might wanna be more ambitious about where to apply. remember u apply once in ur life, even if u r not rich.
