Status of transcripts
Hi everyone,
This question may be very silly, but these days I seem to worry about the smallest things going wrong with my applications. I will have 3 degrees from the same university, thus I listed them separately on the application form. On some of the application status pages (the place where they show whether all your supplemental materials have arrived), they list only 1 transcript as being received, with 2 not received. So my application is classified as incomplete even though my GRE scores, recommendations are all in. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with this, or has a conjecture on what would happen. Will the department not review my application because the online status is 'incomplete'? If someone looked at my application it would be obvious that I should only send in 1 transcript since all three degrees are listed on there. Thank you. Another 4 months of this ![]() |

I totally understand your feeling of thinking and fussing about silly things and small details..
moreover, i also dont understand this incomplete status thing, i am an international student and am suppose to take TOEFL test, however, since i am graduating from a US university, the school i am applying to will waive this requirement, however, when i visit university of virginia web-page, it still says that my application is incomplete because of TOEFL score being not received...i contacted the admission officer at virginia, and she said that it wont be a problem, but still it makes me feel uneasy.. eh, 2-3 more months of constant speculating on what might go wrong or have gone wrong.. |

Thank you for your replies.
I will call/email them, but I'm not sure I'd get a reply from the graduate school. Yale's website more or less says you shouldn't call or email. The majority of schools don't have this online status screen, I think this means that they'll email you if there is anything missing? To weirdo: I wouldn't worry, one of my friends (from 2 years ago) was asked in Feb/March for her TOEFL scores. But since she had completed both her high school and university education in English, she told them that, and was admitted. I think, at least in this case, they only checked that everything was in order after they admit you. After all, their admission decision will in no way be based on TOEFL scores. ![]() |

Are you sure that TOEFL is not required at virginia?? Here is what I found from one of their webpage: "A TOEFL or IELTS exam score is required of all applicants if the language first learned and spoken in the home is not English. This is true regardless of the number of years of instruction in English or if English is the “official” language of the applicant’s home country." Go to this website: http://www.virginia.edu/registrar/re...hapter15-3.htm Take a look at the end of the second paragraph. I graduate from a U.S. university, too. But I'm a permanent resident. I don't have time to take TOEFL so I'm reluctant about applying there. But if the admission officer told you that it won't be a problem, then I might consider applying there. ![]() |
