When do adcoms start reading apps?

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum. I've been reading through the posts, and must say I am really appreciative of the wealth of knowledge you all contribute to the forum!

I was wondering if any of you have a sense of when adcoms typically begin reading apps? A couple of my app materials are still pending (one letter of recommendation and transcripts), and it will probably be at least a week before they reach schools. Am I in big trouble? Some schools just had deadlines on Jan 2nd-4th, but others had deadlines around Dec 15th, and am wondering what this delay will mean for my apps. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

i dont think anyone read anything till late january, maybe last week of january, even if that early
everyone is busy with hiring in january because of the ASSA meetings at the start of jan
