Vanderbilt admit
I wasn't sure how many applied to Vandy, but just giving you all a heads up that I got a snail mail acceptance today. 14.5 thou per year, with the usual tuition and health insurance. Vandy is definitely my last choice (Nashville has no appeal to me whatsoever), so if I hear about another funding offer for myself, I'll be quick to let Vandy know that I don't plan to accept in case others are waiting to hear from them.
Still nice to have a first funding admit though. |

the letter was postmarked 2/9/2007
And after checking the application website, I don't notice anything different. So I don't think they're updating the application website with admissions results (yet, at least). |

Nashville has absolutely no appeal, but you applied to Cornell and Duke? How exactly do Ithaca and Durham have appeal to you? Sounds like you've never been here to Nashville. No place is for everyone, I understand, but Nashville is extremely livable and has lots to do without being expensive. Vanderbilt is right in the heart of the city.
On the other hand, Vanderbilt is like 800th in econ (yes, I'm exaggerating). I'm an undergrad econ major here; the faculty is mostly lousy (with some notable exceptions). That's the real reason you shouldn't come here, not because of Nashville. |
