UWisconsin admit/fellowship nomination?
I just saw on gradcafe that there was a fellowship nomination at UWisconsin and checked me email and saw that I'd received an "unofficial" congratulations email from the admissions committee on my admission. The letter said that, should I choose to come to Wisconsin, "the department willmake an effort to offer you some form of financial aid that will cover tuition, health insurance and a stipend". A little vague right? I don't think that it means that I'm being nominated for a fellowship, but would also like to contact them to discuss the program further if that is the case and I need to provide them with an indication of my interest before they can move ahead with the nomination.
Any advice would be much appreciated. |

nanu...
I don't understand what you are asking. Are you unsure that you are interested? You applied, right? You tell them that you are very interested in the program and tell them also that you really hope they are able to offer you a fellowship. There should be no "maybe I am/maybe I'm not" reaction from you -- that could only hurt you. Now is not the time to try and come off contemplative or considerate or whatever.... you just tell them you are very excited and are in love with the program (assuming you get financial aid, of course) -- that's all they need to know. Don't worry that if you act all interested, but then don't go, that you'll be burning bridges or something...because there are no bridges to burn and they know you make the best decision for you anyway (and they'll forget about you if you don't go, anyway).
