Damn, Duke had a nice year. Sad to lose Hanming Fang
he was really impressive at the open house. Apparently the department approved him for tenure but the school didn't.... messssssed up.

Apart from what was discussed above here are other senior moves I've heard of this year (not all confirmed):
Moving: Doug Bernheim - to Princeton from Stanford Jesus Fernandez-Villaverde - back to Penn from Duke Xavier Gabaix - to NYU Stern from MIT Penny Goldberg - to Princeton from Yale Giovanni Maggi - to Yale from Princeton George Mailath - back to Penn from Yale Jonathan Parker - to Northwestern (Kellogg) from Princeton Victor Rios Rull - to Minnesota from Penn Larry Samuelson - to Yale from Wisconsin Staying put: Marios Angeletos Ivan Werning Unknown: Matthias Doepke Martin Schneider |

I hadn't heard the latest on Doepke -- I knew that was a strong possibility.
I guess I could have listed everybody else as "staying put" but both Werning & Angeletos had a number of offers this year and so there was a chance they'd be moving. As far as I know, Gul & Pesendorfer are staying put too. |

Does anybody know *who* gave offers to Werning and Angeletos? Furthermore, while it appears that both are staying place, did the offers initially go anywhere (ie negotiations, etc) or were they just completely ignored?
