Ibn Abbas
It seems from the little that I have read on the internet so far about grading in US universities, the system is as follows: A+ 4.0 A 4.0 A- 3.7 B+ 3.3 B 3.0 B- 2.7 and so on... If this is the case, wouldn't students who have made the effort of getting A+'s instead of A's be unnecessarily penalized because their GPA would end up being the same as that of the latter? My undergraduate degree is from a school where the system is like: A 4.0 B+ 3.5 B 3.0 C+ 2.5 and so on... ...and my graduate school has the following system: A+ 6.0 A 5.5 A- 5.0 B+ 4.5 B 4.0 B- 3.5 and so on... My undergrad GPA is 3.34 and my Qualifying Year GPA (at Carleton) is 5.81. So where on earth does that put me? :hmm: Why the hell can't all universities meet at Kyoto or Geneva or somewhere like that and fix up a universal standard? Why all the pain?
TruDog
My undergraduate school had no pluses or minuses.
