What institutions are good for "energy economics"? plus my profile for the hell of it
I guess the first question is, is "energy economics" even a legitimate or well defined field? Or is it pretty much covered by developmental, environmental, resource, or agricultural economics? I haven't had many econ electives so my scope is pretty narrow.
After doing some quick searches on the forum, I've only been able to come up with Maryland and Rice. Any other ones anybody knows about? Any good papers or even opinions on the whole subject of energy? plus here's my profile for sh*ts and giggles, but I'm not applying til next year cause it sucks right now. comment if you want to. PROFILE: Type of Undergrad: UCSD, Combination Math/Econ Major (might switch to double major) Undergrad GPA: Overall 3.52, Econ 3.76, Math 3.35 (for upper division) GRE: yet to take, after intense study will likely get about 770q and 550v Math Courses: -Lower Division: calc I,II,III (AP credit, AP credit, A), Differential Eq (A), Linear Algebra(A), Vector calc(B+) -Upper Division: Intro To mathemtical reasoning (A-), Complex analysis I (A), Applied Linear algebra (B), Number Theory I (C+ ), Real Analysis (took it pass/no pass and I passed ), Ordinary Differential Eq I (in progress), Mathematical Modeling (in progress)Econ Courses: -Upper Division: Intermediate Micro I,II (A+,A), Intermediate MacroI I&II(A-,A), econometrics I&II&III (B+ , A, In progress) economic stabilization (B+)Other Courses: introduction to logic (A-) Letters of Recommendation: who knows right now, hopefully my thesis advisor at least. This is the task for this year Research Experience: currently enrolled in senior thesis Teaching Experience: currently a TA for beginning micro Research Interests: still finding it due to not having many electives, but right now I'm thinking something with energy/environmental/resource economics SOP: not thinking about that yet ![]() Other: mexican-american male (can I get a minority "bump"? lol) |
