I earlier informed that I have been selected at Ohio State University AED. The admissions chair just now emailed me telling that department would be giving me TA/RA and fee and tution waivers irrespective of fellowship outcome.

I had assumed these would be reversed. Rutgers was a safety, I hadn't counted on Texas at all.

Your profile was probably too strong. Remember they have a history of rejecting strong profiles who are very likely to go elsewhere.
