And for those waiting don't worry yet I think this is the first day, there will be more admits in the next couple weeks.
In a next couple weeks??? Can you clarify how UBC admit students?

I actually have no idea how they admits students, sorry if I made it sound otherwise. Usually in admissions though they make offers over a span of a few weeks, as we've seen on this board. Just because you haven't received an email yet, clearly doesn't mean you are rejected!

I'm in at the UBC as well - 10.4k TA position. By my calculations, that's about $5.8k after tuition and fees.
Asked me for a reply by March 24th! Hasty.
Hard to turn down $24k in Rochester to live in much-pricier Vancouver on $6k and having to work for it.

Then again, taking the MA lets me have another crack at top-ten. Decisions, decisions.

EDIT: Sent the graduate coordinator an email asking if the department could do a little better.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. Except it's a first crack in my case Though I really doubt I'll be turning down WUSTL..

You should have applied to some top-ten, with all your admits. Though we all know hard it is to observe these things ex ante.

Similarly, I'll be hard-pressed to say no to Rochester.

Oh, and cost-of-living in Vancouver is not cheap. Used to live there. Probably New Haven expensive.

It really grinds me that they mistakenly sent me the official offer from the grad department 3 times (2:05pm EST, 2:06pm EST, 5:40pmEST) and I'm yet to receive an e-mail from the econ department about funding. It seems like UBC T.Aships pretty much everyone, so I should at least be getting that. They better let me know pretty soon or they may lose me to LSE.

    (therefore, 15.4K UBC Econ > -45K LSE F&E IMHO)

After all, a buddy of mine just got accepted, full funded to princeton with a Queen's MA.

refer to any correspondence you have received from the department. If
