"The sciences do not try to explain, they hardly even try to interpret, they mainly make models. By a model is meant a mathematical construct, which with the addition of certain verbal interpretations, describes observed phenomena. The justification of such a mathematical construct is solely and precisely that it is expected to work." John von Neumann |

Yep, I'm sure on that since I got a couple internships in the US, both are fortune 500 companies, due to interview. I don't think interview can get me in Harvard, but may be something in 20-25 rank. Actually, I talked to the director at Vandy, and I might get partial scholarship also. That's why I quite optimistic about interview.

Well, I hate talking over the phone, in any language, to people I do not know personally. So a phone intervew would rather hurt me. I think a more appropriate title for this thread would have been: why every firm should interview.
Of course, there are certain minimums for social conduct that we would like to see even in the most bright researchers (e.g. I don't think that guy would be hired if he presents his job market paper with his teddy bears by his side) ... excuse me prof X, I'll get to your question next, Teddy bear here raised his hand first.... |

e.g.: "Yep, I'm sure on that since I got a couple internships in the US, both are fortune 500 companies, due to interview" It should be: due to interviewS or just state it differently or "don't think interview can get me in Harvard, but may be something in 20-25 rank." again: interviewS and I think it should be inTO Harvard and it's: maybe in this context or "Actually, I talked to the director at Vandy, and I might get partial scholarship also." it's: A partial scholarship "That's why I quite optimistic about interview" here is the "am" missing... this might explain your low verbal-score, hm? sorry but I think you should know this...
