Hi guys,

I know that usually the discussion centres around top 25 or top 50 universities, yet I wanted to ask you what the opinion about Glasgow is, especially regarding macro and their new PhD program in macroeconomics.

To my background, I'm a european student graduating with a quite decent bachelor in economics and I am highly interested in macroeconomics. I have read other threads concerning UPF, Tinbergen and Warwick and would consider those universities for Master's degree as well, but I am not sure if I will get accepted.

Glasgow probably is "hot" place for development practitioners. NOt exactly sure how it came to be. One of my colleagues (who is working in a development project) once mentioned in the passing that a lot of their foreign supervisors (European) commends Glasgow's development focus.

Glasgow was recommended to me as a good place to go by a Professor at LSE where I did my undergrad.
