Inform the schools about your decision

Dear all,

One of the DGS of top 15 school told me that many people who got funding do not inform the department that they will not come(if,of course,they decided so) and schools can understand that these people are not coming not until April 16th.Thus,although there appears money for people who do not get funding at first,they cannot offer money to these people since most of them have already accepted a funded offer from another school by April 15th.

I know many people here made their decision by now and I believe that it would be nice for people who made their decision to inform the schools that they will not be attending so that funding can be offered to others.

I agree with decisiontime. Although I got accepted to non-top-50 schools, I declined the offers from NCSU, Houston and WSU in order to give the chances people who is in the waitlist.

We should behave ethicly.

Remember, the one who waits in the waitlist would be YOU !

I'll be eliminating three more schools from my list by tonight. Two are already out and the rest will have to wait for a final decision. I agree that announcing final decisions is Pareto improving.

I also declined the offers of those schools that I don't want to attend. UCLA was the last one to go, and I hope somebody else might get in because of this! Best of luck!

I second the call from decisiontime and econphp06, all of us waitlisted for admission or funding would deeply appreciate if people who already knoe where they’re going could let the universities know their decision soon.
