Trying to figure out how "small" the UPenn waitlist is...
I am currently in UPenn's waitlist,
and Ms. Quinn told me that they have narrowed the list to a "very small" one. (I have no idea about how "small" it is, though) However, their decision may come very close to the April 15th deadline. I think I have to decide in advance whether to attend UPenn if they accept me. My major concerns are placement and full funding opportunities after the first year, and my field of interest is applied micro (empirical), labor economics, family economics. Currently, I have admissions to UMich (no funding) and UCSD (TAship, but no tuition waiver). Should I head for UPenn if they accept me? (This possibility may be slim, though) Is it okay to ask UMich or UCSD to wait for me until UPenn's decision has been released? Thanks in advance for everyone's opinion ![]() |

Shouldn't hurt to ask. I'd wait until closer to the deadline, however.
From my perception, Michigan and San Diego are pretty much on par with UPenn. For your interests, I might even give Michigan a slight edge. A good student at any of those schools will get a solid placement. |
