No waitlist luck at Harvard nor MIT. I guess at MIT there is no real waitlist since its more about funding on the margin. At Harvard they just filled up the spots this year I guess.
From what I heard more than a few chose Harvard over MIT this time around. (or less chose MIT than usual) So that torpedoed chances at H and no funding got me at MIT.

Funny that so many TMers got off the waitlist at Princeton this year considering last year no one did. While last year Harvard had a couple off the waitlist while this year it was a no go. I guess randomness is pervasive as Nassim Taleb would say....especially regarding waitlists!

Anyway, I'm really excited about going to Yale ! Just a bit tired after waiting for a month ! Also if any of the offers they have out to macro people work out it will be a pleasant surprise!

If I first interpreted the word "DID" as Difference-in-Differences (acronym), does that mean that I'm doing too much applied work?
    Supposed to be studying now.
    (at Stanford)

LOL yes that is one of the symptoms. You should turn off STATA for a week before its too late (i.e. before you end up writing a paper on golf...[j/k]).

Well, the waitlist game is definitely a gamble. I was not accepted from the waitlist at BC, but got a TAship from the financial aid waitlist at UT-Austin.

I'm very very happy, but to be honest also very scared of the UT comps, 40% failure seems like a lot.
