Junior year over... what now?
Like many here in the forum, the junior year is over for me, and getting ready for applications this winter, but the question is what can we do now to improve our profiles. I think most will do research in the summer, and take some higher level classes in the fall before applying. Other then these, is there somethings a person could, which could possibly help a person's profile or admissions? Will appreciate any advice!
Thank you. |

Do you plan on writing a senior paper? If so, it would be a good idea to start working hard over the summer if you have the time. Such an approach would potentially allow for the paper to be completed by December 15, and even more importantly it might give your letter writers some good stuff to say in your letters. Giving your letter writers as much positive information that is not reflected in your transcript as possible is extremely important to having them make a huge difference in the admissions process.

I have already completed a paper, and working on another this summer with a professor. Both the papers will be coauthored with the professor. Given these facts, I guess, senior thesis may not help me as much marginally? Thats what I was thinking... but I am not sure.
