George Washington University

I have been admitted to GWU without funding. I can only finance the first year. Do you have any idea about the chances of getting funding in second semester or in the second year? I am looking forward to hearing your comments.

I have also been admitted to Indiana without funding. I have contacted with one of the graduate students there. He said most of students admitted without funding could not get financial aid and dropped out in the second year.

At most places I hear it's very likely that you'll get 2nd year funding. First of all, prelims narrow down the number of people for second year. Second, there are plenty of professors that need TAs (and maybe even some that need RAs).

I heard on one of these threads that GW only funds 2-3 people a year... I would check that out though. You should definitely call them and ask. Isn't there a faculty member listed on the acceptance letter?

FYI: none of the 2nd year or 3rd year who didn't get funding at the beginning is going to get funding this year. I am sorry to say that...
